Random Acts of Netflix is back and is better better than ever! Check it out and be prepared to be amused. Well something resembling amused at least. I want to say full?
Also I made an animated image for this because I wanted the challenge. What do you think?
Hello folks, it’s time to revisit a little something we call Random Acts of Netflix! We load up a little Netflix randomizer that spits out a truly random movie for us to watch, and whatever comes out, no matter what, we watch it and do an episode about it. Last time we tried this we got a Korean action-rom-com. What’ll it be this time?
There’s this rumor going around that whenever we can’t make a deadline we just throw up a collection of our sketches from the end of previous episodes. Obviously that is untrue and completely not what’s happening here. We just wanted to give you something that is positive in an otherwise . . . yeah ok we had no time.
At least we didn’t record an episode with my phone while driving to a game day. Can you imagine?
Hello from Utah!
We’re bad at planning and I’m in Salt Lake City for work, so no new episode – except for *this* new episode of Sketches that you might’ve heard once, but never all in a row like this! It’s a sketchtacular! A sketchtravaganza! A sketchapolooza! It’s roughly 30 minutes of recycled material, what do you want from us?
This episode is a day late, so we did it live and in real time to make up for it. Now it’s the same as a regular episode! Maybe don’t check the math on that?
So unfortunately this means that even the sketches are completely improvised, unedited and super raw. We couldn’t cherry pick the better ones leaving everything exactly as we performed it . . .
Please forgive us.
What do the professionals do when they run into technical difficulties or scheduling issues, or crippling ennui?
Well, as far as I can tell they say, “Fuck it, let’s do it live!”
Here’s an episode, straight from our flappy mouth holes, to your squirrelly little ear sockets, with almost no editing to speak of. (I did run everything through a noise filter, and add intro music, but other than that, zero editing.) Why?
Fuck it, let’s do it live, that’s why!
Sometimes we get to tell you about good shows that you otherwise might never have heard of. This is one of those times. I don’t have any jokes or clever things to say, no theme that ties back to the title so it has multiple meanings. I just think you should watch Schitt’s Creek and I hope this spoiler free episode convinces you to do it.
Thanks for listening!
This episode is about a great show of which you may not have heard, Schitt’s Creek.
It’s a real humdinger, and I hope you enjoy it, and Schitt’s Creek, which is just excellent.
I also want to add, in the episode, I mention that seasons one and two of Letterkenny are now available on Hulu – this is not the case, but soon will be. Seasons one and two of Letterkenny will be available on Hulu in the US as of July 13th. Mark your calendars, because it’s seriously a fantastic show and I want to show Hulu, and the makers of Letterkenny that there’s an American audience for this show.
And Schitt’s Creek is on Netflix right now, so watch that, then watch Letterkenny on July 13th.
I mean, listen to this episode, and then do that.
Then come back here on the 15th for another episode of A Trouble with Words!
I was worried that if I threw a party and invited everyone that loved Solo to it, I would be the only one there. Everyone seemed so down on this movie before it had even come out, and I have to admit I was one them. I mean I’m not even much of a Star Wars fan truthfully but even I could tell the movies were disappointing more than just myself (haters of diversity aside). It very much seemed like a cash grab that would be remembered as an empty story in a dying universe. Then I saw it and was blown away. No joke. This is without question one of (if not the best) stories in the franchise. Listen to find out the spoiler free reasons why that is.
Also if I did throw such a party would you come? What kind of cups should I get?
As always thanks for your continued support! See you next time!
It’s a Solo party up in here! With both of us!
A Solo Duo, if you will! And you’re here too! What fun! It’s a real party now! A real fiesta! That means party in Spanish! Thanks, Duolingo!
Anyway, we watched the new Star Wars movie and, guess what? We both loved it! Fuck the haters! Enjoy the show!
