Everyone keeps begging for more sketch collection episodes! They love our mad flowing improv and crazy funny characters! It is in honor of that request that we made our lives too busy to put out a new episode.
This is a sketchisode.
Well, really, this is a sketchisode post, which is the post that goes with the sketchisode.
The sketchisode post is going *so* well right now. I hope it keeps going so well, all the way to the end of the sketchisode post, which is coming right up. It’s now. Good job.
The Umbrella Academy is a show about people discovering their true power. More specifically it’s about multiple children that are born suddenly with mysterious and strange abilities and then adopted by an eccentric billionaire who trains them to be super heroes. It’s odd and funny and generally just a good time all around. We talk about it in this one and it’s a good listen if I do say so myself.
You can discover your true power by downloading all of our episodes and stuff. Bam! Brought the theme around and closed the post perfectly! I’m so good at writing you guys.
Hey there, friend! Welcome back!
We got that fresh ‘tent you was looking for!
That Ultra Fresh Content, you crave? We got it!
We’re talking about The Umbrella Academy, and guess what? We’re doing it spoiler-free, so you can listen whether you’ve watched it or not!
(Watch it though, it’s good!)
Love is in the air and everyone is feeling a bit insane as a result. It’s just that time of year. Also for those not afflicted with the build up of oxytocin bonded closeness it can be a bit tougher right now than usual, maybe depressing even. That’s where science comes in.
Well science fiction technically. In this episode we discuss the new Netflix original show about identity and human connection called Maniac. It’s a trippy crazy story that is not afraid to explore some pretty serious stuff in a creative and often fun way. Check out this spoiler free coverage and see if it sounds right for you. Ok here’s just one spoiler … it’s great!
Thanks for listening!
Against all odds, we’ve done it again: Recorded, edited, and produced another humdinger of an episode for your listening pleasure!
I don’t have anything else to say, and I’ve gotta get the episode to Josh so we can technically be on time, so that’s it for me! See you next time!
We’ve been here before. An episode is due. A deadline looms. We know we need to deliver, but life is getting in the way. Is it possible we’ll find a solution in time? Is there some way to cheat the system? Would we even do that?
Impossible to say. Anyway, unrelated to all that we decided to release this one day later so it lines up with the holiday movie it’s based on. The movie we always planned to talk about on this episode from the very beginning. Let’s discuss Groundhog Day!
We’re not late.
What can I tell you, we saw an opportunity to do an episode two days late and call it “On Time” and we took it. Why? Because we’re innovators, that’s why.
Anyway, this ep’s all about *everyone’s* favorite holiday flick, Groundhog Day.
It’s a real good episode, I think, so listen to it a couple dozen times.
One of my resolutions for 2019 is to make the best podcast possible. To try harder and make a better product this year than last year. So that said . . .
What a fantastic episode this is! We’ve got two great guests that we get to talk to about one of the best super hero films we saw in 2018 – Deadpool 2. This is how you start a year off strong. Honestly the most surprising thing about the movie was just how good it was for a sequel to something that pretty much came to an end story wise. They really put the work into making this followup a range of things more than just juvenile jokes breaking up over-the-top action scenes and it shows. Well done indeed.
Thanks to Lindsey my wife for coming on and showing us how it’s done. She does lots behind the scenes that makes this all possible, but having her on is still my favorite way she participates. Also a special thanks to Amanda for joining us on what is hopefully the first of many visits, but also for always being supportive of the show by listening on the regular and even spreading the word. I suspect that our best stuff is still yet to come. Here’s to a great 2019!
P.S. I promise to curb my excitement and let people talk more next time. Probably.
Hello folks, this episode should have been on time, it was recorded early, edited early, uploaded early, and yet, somehow, it’s late. Well, “late” meaning later than midnight on the 14th, but still before midnight on the 15th, so we still win.
Send me my prize.
Hope you are well, and that thing you were worried about turned out alright.
